Valentine's Day Special Celebration In Delhi

As you turn to look around Central Park in CP, you see a strikingly attractive boy curling up to his girlfriend, showering all forms of love and a sparkling glint in the eyes of the girl which is enough to hint that it’s that time of the year when love is celebrated everywhere. 

With spring announcing itself in Delhi, the February sunshine brings with it elation and a sense of vibrancy in the air and Valentine’s Day which falls on the 14th of February is reason enough to go all out for your near and dear ones. Though love keeps brewing at almost every nook and corner of the city on a daily basis, on this particular day, the cupids are in full throttle. 

Haven’t planned for a perfect Valentine’s Day yet? Here’s a small guide to plan your day:

In The Morning:

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the India Habitat Centre’s The All American Diner. Picture this: it’s foggy and cold outside and someone brings you some piping-hot pancakes or a pot of gooey chocolate and waffles or a plate of rich, creamy pasta to make you feel special. Falling in love already, aren’t you?

Post Breakfast:

Option A: How about a not-so-mainstream Valentine’s Day? Watch a play. The famous FICCI Auditorium, Shri Ram Centre and Kamani Auditorium – one of them must be staging a play of your choice. Get your dose of dramas, comedies and everything in between!

Option B: Or how about a couple spa at The Keiken Spa in Greater Kailash. Relax with your love with a soothing Spa treatment in a room full of Love aroma and soothing Love music.

During The Afternoon:

Take a trip out to the narrow bylanes of Old Delhi and feel like you’ve wandered somewhere medieval. There is no dearth of steller Restaurants in Delhi but nothing really beats a classic non-veg meal at Karim’s or Al-Jawahar, popular for their roasted meat kebabs.

Post Lunch:

Option A: Lose yourself to shopping and collect souvenirs from the Central Cottage Industry Emporium. Or you might want to visit Dilli Haat, your one-stop shop for exquisite handicraft items and gourmet delights.

Option B: A saunter around Lutyen’s Delhi is like a voyage back into the days of the Raj, with buildings of polished craftsmanship and perfectly symmetrical gardens on both sides of the lane. Take a stroll here at dusk, hold hands and watch the sun go down the horizon.

Option C: Chocolate, marshmallows and cookies, these things help people fall in love or that’s what I believe. Spoil each other at the Wenger’s Bakery in Connaught Place as the evening approaches.

After Sunset:

It is good to remember that all we need is love but an expressive dinner now and then, doesn’t hurt! A few good options to design your Valentine’s dinner more romantic at some restaurants offering best ambiance and setups are:

Sevilla-The Claridges

Sevilla-The Claridges is one of the most romantic restaurants in Delhi, where you will get to spend Valentine's with your loved one amidst a gorgeous ambiance. Cheri One Qutub

Cheri One Qutub is a fine dining restaurant with great ambiance and a European decor. The Vintage Victorian theme that can be seen in the furniture, cutlery or even the soft drapes around the canopies on the terrace all take you back in time. The whole ambiance is undoubtedly very romantic, making it one of the best places to dine with your loved one. Their wood fired pizzas and chilly prawns are a must try. 

Guppy by Ai

Fancy and imaginative, the interiors at Guppy by Ai are a projection of a child’s fantasy world, replete with characters that are fictional and represented in different forms and sizes. Think lit up fishes floating in the air, pumpkin heads, sleepy heads strung to a side of the wall, jars of goodies and scrapbook entries framed with drawings contained in them.
