Devout Muslims observe fast the whole day without even a drop of water.  Just as the sun sets, mohallas and tiny streets across India are abuzz with activity. Succulent kababs are fried, luscious paranthas are made on huge girdles, milky delights topped with dried fruits are stirred in huge vessels and one can spot colourful, rich fruit laden firnis and faloodas sold in hundreds!
